16 - 25

The Coffee Talk on Thursday, April 16, is a discussion on how to help those in need whose first language isn’t English. Since marginalized people become even more vulnerable in emergencies, Watershed Consulting and The Learning Center at the Community Foundation of Elkhart County are developing a remote interpretation initiative to strengthen the capacity of Elkhart County agencies to serve those with limited English proficiency.

Jason Shenk of Watershed and Missy Schrock, director of Center for Healing and Hope, will join us to discuss how we can help Elkhart County residents by bridging language differences.

We are offering free, online meetings at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and 2 p.m. Thursdays to help people gather and learn together during this pandemic.

To reach Jason, you can email him at [email protected].
