Please join us on Wednesday, May 3 for our quarterly Estate Planning Council event.

The event will start with registration at 11:15 a.m. The program will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. as lunch is served.

Pete McCown, president of the Community Foundation of Elkhart County, will discuss:

  • Information about the Community Foundation and its donor-facing services
  • A report on the state of the foundation
  • Reflections on 30 years in the field of philanthropy
  • Relationship of the Community Foundation to the Estate Planning Council

This event will be in-person at The Old Bag Factory in Goshen with lunch provided by Bread & Chocolate.

The Estate Planning Council provides multi-disciplinary education, understanding, and cooperation among professionals who are involved in estate planning.

This event is free for members of the Estate Planning Council. The cost is $35 for nonmembers. If you haven’t joined for $100 annually, you can do so here.

 

About our Speaker:

Pete McCown

Dr. Pete McCown is President of the Community Foundation of Elkhart County. Since taking on that role in 2011, more than $350 million in gifts have been given to the foundation. As president, he serves as chief investment officer and helps coordinate the work of both the growing staff and the dozens of volunteers who serve as board and committee members. As it has grown to be one of the top 100 community foundations in the United States, McCown has guided the organization and helped shape its culture, strategies, and policies.

In 2014, he was appointed to be one of five members of the board of the South Bend – Elkhart Regional Development Authority. He has been instrumental in determining how to best invest the state’s $92 million in the region, spurring additional quality-of-life projects in the region, as well as overseeing several processes to guide planning for the future of the region.

Pete and his wife, Wendy, are parents of five children. Pete and Wendy are active members of South Bend City Church.
