Elkhart Municipal Band Foundation
The Elkhart Municipal Band is a professional Concert Band sponsored by the City of Elkhart. Formed in 1938 by local musicians for the City of Elkhart, the band performs free concerts throughout the year. In 2008, the Elkhart Municipal Band Foundation (EMBF) created an endowed fund at the Community Foundation to support its charitable and educational purposes.
The Impact the Foundation is Making
Since 2008, the EMBF has supported music education and equipment needs in Elkhart Memorial, Elkhart Central, and Concord High School. Such support includes:
- Instrument purchase and education,
- Private lesson subsidies,
- Music camp scholarships, and
- Winter Guard/Percussion performing programs.
Information for Grantees
All grantees are asked to complete the grantee report below. The report is an important part of the EMBF Committee’s grant process. The response to the questions contained in the form provides an assessment and accounting of this grant to the EMBF committee, and also provides a tool by which they will monitor the effectiveness of grants in relation to music education.
A grant report is due April 30 or after completion of your project/program, whichever comes first.
