Vonnie Trumble is a Program Officer for the Community Foundation, focusing on the Kids and Families Committee. She is responsible for reviewing applications, conducting background research, preparing proposals for funding and making recommendations for funding. A program officer builds and maintains relationships with community organizations and Vonnie leads the program department’s efforts of capacity building for nonprofit partners. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Hope College. As a girl she wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and be an attorney. She has been regional director for Women in Community Service Inc., state coordinator for Dynamic Educational Systems, a substitute teacher at several schools, and served on a number of boards. She and her husband Scott have three children. She enjoys reading, hiking, biking and traveling. She says her superpower is reading her children’s minds — with a 90 percent success rate.
