Tolson Center for Community Excellence

The Tolson Center for Community Excellence builds off the foundation established by Herbert and Ruth Tolson and carried forward by the City of Elkhart for decades. A true community partnership—built on the feedback from residents—is creating a revitalized Tolson Center rooted in South Central Elkhart, reaching across generations and cultures to serve all of the Elkhart community and beyond.

Additional Information

A 15-member board is guiding the process to hire new staff and oversee construction, as well as other functions of this public-private partnership.

Construction is scheduled to begin mid-2022 and a new Tolson is expected to be unveiled in 2023 at 1320 Benham Avenue, Elkhart.

The Community Foundation is committed to helping Tolson succeed as it serves the community in new ways.
