Nominations open for Tolson Center governing board

Since Tolson Center closed in the summer of 2018 for a time, a group of people has been working not only to reenvision what Tolson Center & Park could become to best serve the community.

A proposed project would expand the center, add additional outdoor facilities, and be governed by a nonprofit that is overseen by a volunteer board. The City of Elkhart, which has operated Tolson, will nominate representatives, but we’re also looking to the public for nominations as we forge this public/private partnership. We want to start moving forward to create this governing board.

You can nominate people in this survey, which is available in both English and Spanish. (You can toggle between the two.)

We’re grateful for your support and thinking about Tolson’s future with us.

Sincerely,

Pete McCown, Levon Johnson and Mayor Rod Roberson
