Multiple scholarships from one application

Adult Students

Each year the Community Foundation awards over 50 scholarships to adults working hard to obtain their degree or certificate. Students are eligible to receive up to $3,000 and may re-apply annually through our online application process.

The Universal Application makes an a student eligible for consideration for multiple scholarships. 

Key dates:

January 1: Application available online at InspiringGood.org.
March 1: Application deadline
April 30: Community Foundation will notify scholarship recipients.
July 15: Community Foundation will mail checks to college/university.

Community Impact Scholarship Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED and have been employed in Elkhart County or adjacent county for the past 12 months. Planning to enroll full-time or part-time in an accredited undergraduate, technical, or certificate program within 100 miles of Elkhart County or enrolled online. Resident of Elkhart County minimum of four years.Up to $3,0001

Parent must be an employee of Heritage Financial Group, Inc.; Quick Auto, Inc.; Heritage Acceptance Corporation; M H Acceptance or any of the Manufactured Housing Communities, with at least one year of seniority. Planning to enroll on a full-time basis at an accredited college, university or vocational school. Awards multiple scholarships each year. Recipients may re-apply annually.

IUSB Elkhart County Scholarship

Resident of Elkhart County minimum of one year. Must enroll or be a current student at IUSB or IUSB-Elkhart. Traditional, non-traditional, full-time, part-time and graduate students may apply. Awards multiple scholarships each year. Students may re-apply annually.

Resident of Elkhart County minimum of one year. Must enroll or be a current student at Ivy Tech Community College. Traditional, non-traditional, full-time and part-time students may apply. Awards multiple scholarships each year. Students may re-apply annually.

Jane Fryer McConaughy Memorial Scholarship

Indiana resident and/or attending college in Indiana. Pursuing a degree in ministry, missions or education. Traditional, non-traditional, full-time, part-time and graduate students may apply. Awards multiple scholarships each year. Students may re-apply annually.

OSMC Scholarship

A dependent child of an OSMC employee that has been employed for at least one year. Excludes dependents of the physicians and executive management. Planning to enroll on a full-time basis at an accredited college, university, or vocational school. Traditional and non-traditional students seeking an under-graduate degree or certificate may apply. Awards multiple scholarships each year. Students may re-apply annually.

Penny Free Memorial Scholarship

Resident of Elkhart County minimum of one year. Historically underrepresented student, including African American, Hispanic/Latinx or women. Preference given to a student pursuing a degree in either a health care field (including behavioral health and social work) or the arts. Traditional or non-traditional, full-time or part-time students may apply. Students may re-apply annually.
